Overview: What does a Sales Representative Technical do?
Sales Representative’s primary duties are to interest wholesale and retail buyers in their technical merchandise, and to address any of the client’s questions or concerns. Sales representatives spend much of their time traveling to and visiting with prospective buyers and current clients. During a sales call, they discuss the client’s needs and suggest how their merchandise can meet those needs. Earnings of sales representatives usually are based on a combination of salary and commission. Many people enter the occupation based on experience; however, a bachelor’s degree is increasingly required.
