Privacy Policy

This describes what JobQuiz collects, why we collect it, who else touches it, and how to get a copy or have it deleted. We do not sell personal information and we do not run advertising trackers on this site.

1. What we collect

When you take the free test

Your answers to the 63 questions and the work-style profile computed from them. Until you start a subscription this is held in your browser and is not attached to any identity. No account, no email address and no payment details are required to take the test.

When you start a subscription

• Your email address, used to sign you in and to send service email.
• Your quiz answers and profile, saved to your account so your matches and progress persist across devices.
• Your progress: which days you have completed, your streak, your XP, the career you chose, and the fit signal each lesson produces.
• Subscription status: whether you are trialing, active, past due or cancelled, and the dates involved.

What we never see

Your card details.Payment is handled entirely by Stripe. Card numbers are entered into Stripe's own fields and never reach our servers. We store only Stripe's customer and subscription identifiers.

2. Why we collect it

• To provide the Service: rank your matches, serve the right day, keep your streak.
• To take payment and manage your subscription.
• To send service email you would expect: trial started, trial ending, payment failed, cancellation confirmed.
• To keep the Service working: diagnosing errors and preventing abuse of the free trial.

Where the law requires a legal basis, ours is performance of our contract with you for the first two, and our legitimate interest in running a working, non-abused service for the rest. We do not send marketing email without consent.

3. Who processes it

We keep this list short on purpose. Each of these is a processor acting on our instructions:

• Supabase, for the database and for sign-in.
• Stripe, for payments and subscription billing. Stripe is a controller in its own right for payment data; see Stripe's privacy policy.
• Vercel, for hosting and server logs.
• Anthropic, whose API generates lesson content. Career and lesson parameters are sent; your identity, email and quiz answers are not.
• Resend, for transactional email.

Fonts are self-hosted, so loading a page on this site does not send your IP address to a font provider.

4. Cookies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary to run the Service: a session cookie so you stay signed in, and a short-lived cookie during checkout that ties your payment back to the browser that started it. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, so there is no consent banner to click through.

5. How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account exists. If you ask us to delete it, we remove your account, quiz answers and progress within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax and accounting (payment records, typically seven years). Unsaved quiz answers in your browser are cleared when you clear your browser storage.

6. Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@jobquiz.com from the address on your account and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, to data portability, and to complain to your data protection authority. If you are in California, note again that we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA.

7. Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Access to production data is limited to what is needed to run the Service. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your data we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.

8. Children

JobQuiz is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

Our processors may handle data in the United States and elsewhere. Where data leaves your region we rely on the safeguards those providers offer, including standard contractual clauses where applicable.
